About this Learning Opportunity

The digital age has created opportunities to engage students in rich learning previously difficult to achieve. We endeavour to engage all students and support the development of critical and creative thinking. The session will focus on the exploration of how sustained inquiry can help to create the conditions that promote deep engagement in learning. You will consider the use of a critical thinking framework to develop learning opportunities around cascaded challenges that flow from rich provocative questions. You will consider how teaching the intellectual tools for quality thinking can support student achievement as well as how technology can be used to create digitally-enhanced learning environments.

Day One: focus on engagement through critical, creative and collaborative inquiry and review/introduction of the TC2 framework.

Day Two: focus on developing curriculum for sustained inquiry (cascading challenges) in a digitally-enhanced learning environment.

This learning opportunity is being provided through funding from Alberta Education.
