IMPROVING MATHEMATICS INSTRUCTION FOR STUDENTS WHO STRUGGLE

More Details | Register

This all-day institute focuses on adapting classroom instruction for a diverse group of learners in grades 1-5 who struggle with mathematics.

Using evidence-based strategies such as concrete/semi-concrete/abstract (CSA), you will learn how to help your students develop a balanced understanding of mathematics concepts and skills that focus on number and operations and algebraic thinking.

You will also experience classroom-tested tasks that create robust learning and avoid the “teaching as telling” approach. An emphasis will be on building from students’ strengths and avoiding “rules that expire.”
