About this learning opportunity
Educators are often looking for ways to help students understand complex global issues, while empowering them to taking concrete actions that make a difference in their community.
In this webinar, you will learn about the curriculum-aligned online course developed and supported by the Alberta-based Centre for Affordable Water & Sanitation Technology (CAWST), and how this course can be used to provide opportunities for your students to become active members of their own community.
Competency in global and cultural understanding and environmental stewardship is built by hearing youth stories of community development from Zambia and Nepal, and by connecting youth with local and regional water experts. Through the course, students will be supported by CAWST and its local partners to take meaningful action, including through the provision of funding for action projects.
This opportunity is presented in partnership with the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation (ACGC) www.acgc.ca and the Center for Global Citizenship Education and Research (CGCER) http://www.cgcer.ualberta.ca/.
This learning opportunity is being provided through a grant from Alberta Education.
