About this learning opportunity

Love Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU)? Come discover TDfU - Teaching Dance for Understanding!

Designed for Generalist and Specialist PE teachers, this model will help your students develop physical literacy and fundamental movement skills as they explore various styles of dance and gain self-confidence. Learn how to modify the ‘rules’ of dance (choreography and technique) to allow students to learn through foundational movements and rhythms. Explore curriculum design strategies linking to the PE Outcomes that follow the 6 elements of the model and be ready to bring back fresh ideas and lesson plans for dance to your school!

By the end of this active workshop, you will:

  • learn about Teaching Dance for Understanding as a pedagogical approach
  • learn simple movements that develop fundamental movement skills
  • experience TDfU lesson activities that you can use to develop curriculum
  • have obtained resources to support classroom implementation (including playlist with dance moves!)

No meals will be provided. Please bring your own.

This session is being offered on a cost recovery basis.
