About this learning opportunity
This session on digital assessment will deal mainly with Smart Response tools including Smart Response LE, PE, CE and XE. We will examine the larger picture of assessment and where digital assessments like Smart Response fits in your planning. This session explores the many question types that can be created and how they can be used to uncover deeper student understanding. We will also discuss classroom management around these quick response tools. You will be given guidance in the creation of classroom lists, creation of questions, quizzes, tests, and exams. Also included is the use of online digital assessment tools like Google Forms and polleverywhere.com.
About the facilitator(s)
Aaron Ball is an Emerging Technologies Consultant with Edmonton Catholic schools. His Masters in Educational Studies centered around the use of videos games as inquiry-based learning tools. In the classroom he has used web 2.0 tools to engage students and keep open dialogue with parents. In his first year of teaching Aaron was recognized by Edmontonian's magazine in the 2005 Sizzling 20 Under 30 for his work as a Microsoft Innovative teacher.
